BASS INVADERS TOUR
with special guests….
Shy Guy Says
SHY GUY SAYS is an electronic music producer and performer straight from the Mushroom Kingdom, an 8bit villain ready to destroy any party at any time and somehow leave his victims wanting more. His eclectic, yet upbeat and danceable sound can best be described as a mixture of Hip Hop, Glitch Hop, Dubstep, Trap, and Drum N Bass.
It’s know for its heavy rhythmic swagger, yet at the same time can be lush and loaded with dirty synth bass sounds, warm ambiance, and 8-bit glitches.
Jeremy Daeger aka That Guy
Jeremy Daeger credits the beginning of his musical career to his father who handed him a DJ setup at the ripe age of 14. A hand-me-down from the neighbors, Daeger never knew it would be the beginning of a lifelong passion and hobby.
Like many self-taught DJs, he learned the ropes through relentless practice at beat-matching and mixing records. When the 90’s hit, Daeger embedded himself in the burgeoning rave scene and felt a renewed connection to music.
Reflecting on his earliest work experimenting with electronic music, Daeger explains, “I started with house music because it was a 4/4 style and easy to beat match.” It wasn’t long before he discovered the style of breaks in 2003, allowing him to branch out into new musical territory and leverage his love for hip hop and funk. “It’s more than just a beat,” Daeger says of his special blend of break beats and groovy jams. “It has vocals and familiar rhythms that people can really get into.”
An active member of the G9 Collective since 2009, That Guy The DJ’s distinct blend of hip hop and break beats further diversifies the well-rounded group of DJs. Mixing bass, funk and rhythms to make you want to dance, That Guy The DJ delivers guilty pleasures from your radio and iPod, but with more energy and sophistication.
“KJ Sawka is the master of drum and bass drumming. Plain and simple. Kevin has been involved in some of the biggest names in EDM, and continues to release top notch work as both a drummer and producer. I need not say too much, because once you watch this video, you’ll know exactly what I mean.
Consistently considered one of the go to guys for drum and bass rhythms that will rip your ears off, he’s only going to get bigger from here. Destroid, which includes masterminds Excision, Downlink, and KJ Sawka is coming towards an end to their 2013 tour. Seeing them live is something else if you never have. Check out their remaining dates below and watch Kevin “Destroy” it on the drums.
KJ Sawka plays some of the rawest drums around. And that’s before he adds electronics. On an acoustic drumset he creates the whirs, delays, effects, and sonic dislocations of electronic music. Adding an arsenal of devices further broadens his palette, providing an atmospheric bed for his extremely visceral drumming. “I really try to re-create the drum machine beats of electronic music with an acoustic drumset, simultaneously triggering the actual snare, kick, and hi-hat sounds,” Sawka explains from London. “I try to sound as electronic as possible. I become the machine.”
