Christian the DJ
Christian cut his teeth on the dance floors of the midwest rave scene of the late 90’s.
With his diverse music palate, he’s had the opportunity to open for Frankie Bones, Mark Farina, GRiZ, G Jones, Manic Focus, and the Floozies.
You don’t merely witness Christian — you experience him. Watching Christian perform is a lesson in technical DJ proficiency, a proficiency that has grabbed the attention and respect of the local Indianapolis Bass scene.
To him, tracks aren’t just songs. They are scenes to a film, chapters to a novel. And it’s the narrative approach to his dancefloor assault that reveals his true level of expertise.
Turbo Suit is a vibrant voice in live electronic music. The versatile Indianapolis trio is comprised of David Embry on production and vocals, Nicholas Gerlach on tenor saxophone and EWI, and Jeff Peterson on drums.
The band has been making crowds dance since their launch in 2012. They’ve been touring nationally and have shared the stage with some amazing acts. Turbo Suit has performed at a plethora of top national festivals and you can frequently catch them hosting special guest, adding just another angle to their live show.
You can always count on the trio consistently dropping original music with songs that are infectiously danceable, sensual saxophone melodies and ultra-accessible beats. Over the summer festival season, they gave birth to Singles Night, which had them putting out remixes every two weeks. All signs point to the best fall tour yet. Join the movement.
Raised in the Italian city of Vajont, seasoned in the American southwest, baked and hardened in the streets of the 317, Spaghetto, the locked and loaded audial representation of the classic dish, brings to the table a feast of saucy beats served atop a pile of freshly prepared spaghetti.
No seriously, he’s serving spaghetti…
…or another dish from his family cookbook, while blasting fresh beats from a mélange of genres. Spaghetto, a.k.a. David Embry, creates a full sensory experience unlike any other by indulging the ears with ambrosial beats, teasing the nose with heavenly aromas, satisfying the taste buds with freshly prepared dishes, and amusing the eyes by mixing songs and sauces at the same time.
Is he for real?
Yes. Yes, he is. From his first project DJ Embryo, to his most recent musical endeavor Spaghetto, Embry has concentrated his efforts on evolving his performances musically as well as visually. Embry has produced beats, played guitar and keys, and rocked lead vocals for several bands from local acts, such as Embryonic Fluid, to nationally touring acts like Turbo Suit and Cosby Sweater. Musical ingenuity is undeniably evident in the work of the aforementioned bands, and Spaghetto, while exclusively Embry’s project, is certainly not lacking in talent or originality.
Somewhere swirled in between the bass lines and basil, and the chrome rims and ravioli, is the musical main dish simmering in synthesizers and vodka sauce. Spaghetto serves up an entire menu of dope tracks and fire dishes seasoned with a secret selection of herbs and vices sure to satiate all your senses.
