About
Memphis soul, New Orleans funk, classic rock and cosmic vibes come together in the music of the Dopacetics, a circle of Indianapolis music veterans featuring Dave Harrison on lead vocals, Poncho Hedrick on bass, Lamar Owens on drums, Mina Keohane on keyboards and Scott Hall on guitar.
Hedrick, Hall and Keohane first found their common groove as members of the hip-hop collective Freehand Orchestra, supporting vocalist T.J. Reynolds. Hedrick leads the progressive funk project Blackberry Jam, with Owens as a longtime collaborator. Vocalist/percussionist Harrison has performed experimental music with Glitch Clique and classic rock with Rat Shovel. Keohane is a sought-after side player in rock and jazz circles while fronting her own combo, Mina & the Wondrous Flying Machine.
The Dopacetics’ collective output has a contemporary edge while drawing on a range of classic influences, from Otis Redding and Curtis Mayfield to Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin. Contact us at [email protected], and hear more music at soundcloud.com/the-dopacetics.
