About

Audiodacity

Anything is possible! This is the mission statement of the multi-genre sextet, and it is embedded in the heart of every song they write. From their humble beginnings as an open mic house cover band, Audiodacity has grown into a dynamic and musically-diverse ensemble with dozens of original songs, each imbued with the spirit of their camaraderie. Every member has varying levels of musical backgrounds, preferences, and influences; but these differences seamlessly combine into a sound that is truly original. Funk, rock, hip-hop, latin, jazz, reggae, R&B, blues and even dubstep – no genre is left unexplored.

Audiodacity’s unique style and their reputation for delivering unforgettable live performances have earned them a spot among Indiana’s top bands. They have won several city-wide and state-wide battle of the bands competitions, performed all throughout the Midwest, and have even shared the stage with nationally touring acts such as Ludacris, GROUPLOVE, and Here Come The Mummies.

About

800 lb Gorilla

800 lb. Gorilla is a college rock/jam band based in Bloomington, Indiana. With a rock and roll core, the band pulls together funk and jazz influences to create driving, catchy, danceable grooves. A five-piece band, 800lbG places rock-solid guitar, funky keyboards and sax on top of a drums-and-bass rhythm section. The interplay between musicians takes place on an improvisational plane that harkens Herbie Hancock, The Grateful Dead and Steely Dan.

Originally formed by brothers Mark (guitar) and Daniel (lead vox) Humphrey when they were in middle school, the band has evolved from a hard-rock power trio to a funk and jazz juggernaut. Since that time they have added Kwame Newton (keyboards/alto sax), Brian Carson (drums), and Joe Schweitzer (electric bass). As a group, you would be hard-pressed to find five more competent musicians.

800 lb. Gorilla has enjoyed a warm welcome from music lovers as they have developed their show on stages across Indiana and Ohio. Their fanbase is strongest among their college peers in Bloomington, and the jam band community throughout Central Indiana. They are fortunate to have been invited to play festivals this year including Hyperion, Good People Good Times, JorgStock (Eiteljorg Museum), and Taste of Bloomington.
The band intends to take the musical interplay higher, and continue to reach music lovers far and wide.

About

Sassafraz

SassafraZ is a super collection of six great guys who live their lives with the emphasis on the offbeat. They like to hang out and make big, loud sounds. All six really enjoy holding a groove, grooving out, grooving in, and just plain moving and grooving.

Started by multi-instrumentalists Jack Gould and Zach Pontzer in 2012, SassafraZ quickly took the midwest music scene by storm, playing shows with notable groups such as Snarky Puppy, Galactic, Papadosio, The Werks, Dopapod, and many more. The band released its first album “Time Will Tell” in 2013 and the follow up “Move Your Body” a year later in 2014.

Jack plays the sax, keys, sings, and keeps all of these animals in line. Zach plays guitar, trumpet, sings and can scale walls like Spiderman (which is surprisingly handy on the road). Jake AKA Baby Hands plays bass, sleeps in late, and has really little hands. Thane lives in a magical old mansion, plays the keys, sings, and is an avid gardener. Sexy Dave is sexy. He also plays the drums. The newest addition to the band, Ian Carroll straight up shreds on guitar. There’s no jokes about him, he seriously wails.

Some of the band’s favorite things include rimshots, dominant seventh chords, and some hearty Southern cooking. Hang out with them, but when you hear the funk be prepared to bounce up and down with them.
