We are celebrating the life of our good friend Chocolate George, and raising some money to help get his final album completed.
On Saturday, October 5th we will celebrate the life and music of our great friend Chocolate George. Come on out to hear 35+ years worth of music attributed to the talents and efforts of George and his family, friends and band-mates.
We will kick things off at 8pm with a set from The Fancy Lizards, followed by The Chocolate George Band doing abunch of their newer stuff. We’ll then cap off the night with an All-Star jam featuring a bunch of his old pals.

✧ About Chocolate ✧
Having over 30 years of experience in the entertainment industry, Chocolate George is an accomplished singer, songwriter & musician with a focus on making music and entertaining people. George started playing jam sessions at 17 around Indianapolis and in the 90’s, sang, wrote and played harmonica for Broad Ripple mainstay the Fancy Lizards.
As a member of Fancy Lizards; George opened for and “side staged” with world class bands including Allman Brothers, Hootie and the Blowfish, Jefferson Starship, Dave Mathews Band, Merle Saunders, James McMurtry and Rusted Root. George later went on to play with “Little Sky Giant”, “Solar Howard” and “Love Dragon” and is a touring member of the Willie Walmand project.

Chocolate George began singing in choirs in grade school and soon fell in love with music and performing. Then at the age of seventeen He found Blues music and started sneaking into jams in Downtown Indianapolis. His first real group “Fancy Lizards’ started in August of 1991 and disbanded in 1998 after releasing three recordings and playing over one thousand shows. Other Groups Chocolate George has played with include The Chocolate George band, The Motherheads, Little Sky Giant and Solar Howard. So far Chocolate George has shared the stage with quite a few notable bands and musicians including Merle Saunders, Jefferson Starship, Todd Snider, Dave A ‘Bear (JGB), Herman Green, Jon Avilla, The Why Store and The Willie Waldman Project.
With exceptional lyrics and danceable grooves, Chocolate George is poised to become one of your new favorites!
