About

Tropidelic

Tropidelic formed along the banks of the Cuyahoga River in murky, Kent, Ohio. Fusing energetic funk, reggae and hip-hop, the group built a local following distributing over 10,000 free copies of their first EP, “Rebirth of The Dope” on campuses and street corners throughout the midwest. After relocating to nearby Cleveland, the group bolstered themselves as a staple in the region through constant touring as well as supporting acts like Slightly Stoopid, 311, Pepper, The Dirty Heads, Sublime with Rome, Soja, The Wailers, & many more. In addition to appearances at Warped Tour and Bamboozle Festival (50,000+ attendees), their EP, “Erie Vibes & Irie Tides” received regular radio airplay on area stations in 2011. Tropidelic continued to develop their sound and unflagging live show with the addition of a three piece horn section and percussion. In 2014, the group was shut down by police during a SXSW street performance and was published by national media outlets when their rehearsal space was haphazardly raided by police later that year while executing a warrant for a previous tenant. The group sold out the renown, Grog Shop, in Cleveland, OH on December 31, 2014 and toured the southeast with big-drawing, Badfish (Sublime Tribute) in Spring 2015. Their latest release, “Police State” features cameo appearances by East Coast Reggae friends, Sun-Dried Vibes and Bumpin’ Uglies. Tropidelic continues to bring their funky reggae circus across the US in their full size school bus conversion!
