ANNIE MAC, BBC RADIO 1

About

Stanton Warriors

Since bursting onto the scene with their multi award-winning compilation “The Stanton Sessions” back in 2001, the Stanton Warriors’ irresistible and inimitable sound has consistently remained the soundtrack to some of the world’s biggest and best parties over the past thirteen years; from East London warehouses, Miami boat parties and illegal Detroit raves, to the stages of Coachella, Glastonbury, Burning Man and Ultra, selling out global tours and topping DJ lists along the way.

In the studio, Bristol’s Mark Yardley and Dominic Butler have honed a trademark, uncategorisable sound that is at once all their own, but also utterly indefinable, leading to high-profile releases on XL Records, Fabric, Cheap Thrills, Central Station and Universal, alongside official remixes for everyone from Daft Punk and Fatboy Slim, to MIA and Gorillaz. This phenomenal output and remarkable longevity has ensured the Stanton Warriors legendary status amongst not only their fans, but also their peers, as they remain fresh, original and relevant; obstinately dancing to beat of their own drum and helping to pave the way for new talent.

In 2014 alone, the Stanton Warriors topped the Beatport charts (again), inspired Disclosure’s Grammy-nominated album Settle, got Annie Mac dancing on her living room carpet, opened London’s 3k capacity Building Six club, saw their podcast shoot to No. 3 in the iTunes chart and smashed the stages of Ultra, Supersonic and Glastonbury.

In 2015, Stanton Warriors typically show no sign of slowing down with a brand new album featuring a host of new exciting bass artists such as Cause & Affect (aka Chris Lorenzo & Kane), sold-out tours across the USA, Europe, Australia and the Far East, collaborations on Claude Von Stroke’s Dirtybird label and a slew of exciting releases on their own tastemaker label Punks.

About

Jeremy Daeger aka That Guy

Jeremy Daeger credits the beginning of his musical career to his father who handed him a DJ setup at the ripe age of 14. A hand-me-down from the neighbors, Daeger never knew it would be the beginning of a lifelong passion and hobby.

Like many self-taught DJs, he learned the ropes through relentless practice at beat-matching and mixing records. When the 90’s hit, Daeger embedded himself in the burgeoning rave scene and felt a renewed connection to music.

Reflecting on his earliest work experimenting with electronic music, Daeger explains, “I started with house music because it was a 4/4 style and easy to beat match.” It wasn’t long before he discovered the style of breaks in 2003, allowing him to branch out into new musical territory and leverage his love for hip hop and funk. “It’s more than just a beat,” Daeger says of his special blend of break beats and groovy jams. “It has vocals and familiar rhythms that people can really get into.”

An active member of the G9 Collective since 2009, That Guy The DJ’s distinct blend of hip hop and break beats further diversifies the well-rounded group of DJs. Mixing bass, funk and rhythms to make you want to dance, That Guy The DJ delivers guilty pleasures from your radio and iPod, but with more energy and sophistication.

IndyMojo Presents... Altered Thurzdaze w/Disco Aliens

Indymojo.com and G-9 Collective are excited to kick off the final month of the year with a crazy night of extraterrestrial-ness…..

* DISCO ALIENS

Although they claim to be from outer space, this rogue squadron is actually four raging lunatics from the Midwest bringing you inter-dimensional sounds from the edges of the universe. These enthusiasts conspired for years before finally joining forces to create speaker-crushing sound scapes with the full intention of causing havoc and mayhem. They often assault dance floors from behind multip…le mixing stations simultaneously and create a uniquely energetic multi-genre dance floor experience.

In little more than a year after first being sighted, they have been studied in appearances all over the Midwest festival scene including Halfway to Forecastle, Forecastle Festival, Underground Sound, and The Land of Nod Experiment. They also made two guest appearances at WMC 2010 and have appeared on fliers and shared stages with artists such as DJ Icey, Forrest Green, Excision, AK1200, Andy B, Kraddy, DJ Lord, Boombox, EOTO and many more both as the whole group and as individual artists. Currently the Aliens are gearing up for an even better 2011 preparing both in the studio and on stage.

You have been warned. The Aliens are coming

Music is a journey, at least to these two worldly wanderers. Based on the backgrounds of John Napier and Glenn Giles (G.F.G), you wouldn’t predict the two of them would get together in the studio to create a sound of their own. Relentless drums and deep driving kicks permeate the realm of John Napier’s production style. Glenn believes that without some funk, why bother?

Upon meeting in the summer of 2010 on the DJ circuit, these two quickly discovered an easy chemistry and found their unique individual styles could mesh; a new sound was born. A fusion of house and techno, in its most natural form……
