Indymojo.com and G-9 Collective is proud to present….
~ ALTERED THURZDAZE ~ with Special Guests…. A new indianapolis based duo featuring Ryan Hickey (aka DJ Helicon) and Robert Coates in and improvisatory, experimental setting that explores elements of trance, funk, hip-hop, jazz, world music and much more. Both artists have performed extensively in the United States in various projects, and now as a duo they offer a fresh approach to dance-electronica. Turntables and computer software supply libraries of beats and sounds, while an 8-string guitar supplies bass, harmony, and melodic support to the groove. The organic result is a fusion of digital and analog realms and a collision of style and genre. PERFORMANCES Coates (of EN2) and Helicon (formerly of the Mudkids and co-founder of Oranje) have performed at various clubs, concerts, festivals, fashion shows, parties, art openings, and corporate events in CA, WA, CO, ID, OR, UT, IN, IL, MI, TN, KY, GA, NC, VA, NY, OH, MI, MO, WY, WI. MIKE B. aka Dusty Fingertips aka Play Lemonade for JK I was born in a crossfire hurricane. It’s a long way to the top if you wanna rock and roll. You think it’s chocolate milk, but it’s watered-down Yoo-Hoo. Tired of the old drop, I had to put it down. What more can I say? All you need is love. Indymojo Presents – ALTERED THURZDAZE: Birthdaze Edition
|
Indymojo Presents….
Altered Thurzdaze: Birthdaze Edition Celebrating the birthdaze of Matt Porter, Rudy Kizer, Jim Laughner, Matt Ramsey, and anyone else with a birthday who wants to come out and rage with us! * Matt Porter (Happy Birthday!) In 1995 Matt Porter went to his first Rave and instantly knew that he had found where he belonged. For almost 15 years now Matt has been DJing and helping out the underground electronic music scene in various ways. He started by helping to create a magazine named Stellar Awareness and then a few years later he opened a clothing and record store in Indianapolis, Indiana named Univibe. Over the years he has also helped throw many electronic music events. The largest one was named YesFest and was held in Southern Indiana back in 2000. Here now in 2011, his focus is back to his true love, DJing. His music is rooted in house, but his sets contain a mix of anything with a heavy bassline. This consists of a lot of electro house, mixed a little dubstep and breaks, and some old school speed garage. When you come to see Matt Porter be prepared to dance, cause he loves to see the crowd moving. * Psynapse vs. Kodama A mutated duo borne from the roots of a mighty tree in the middle of a forest. These tree spirits are ancient and wise, offering healing magic, wisdom and insight. Tree spirits act as the guardians and life force of the trees. Responsible for nurturing and growing them, the tree spirits are keen to share their wisdom regarding the care of the planet, particularly that of forests, woods and the wildlife that dwells within. They are also excellent healers, and leaning against the trunk of a tree can bring about great restorative powers. Tree spirits are not entirely bound to their tree; they can venture a short distance away. Legends tell of folk becoming unsettled in forests at night, because of the tree spirits stirring and walking about the woods. * Wes Clay With an intense attention to detail and an elaborate library of electronic music and personal productions, Wesley Clay incorporates both the technical and collective sides of DJ culture. His collegiate background in audio engineering, MIDI programming/digital synthesis, and live sound reinforcement all contribute to his choice and selection within the studio and DJ booth. Wes exhibits an impenetrable style of mixing and blending within his performances which compliment his confidence behind the decks. His consistency and commitment endures to a degree of always impressing his audience and individuals alike. * Neighbz Neighbz discovered his love for electronic music in the late 90s early 2000 era thru the Saint Louis, MO rave & club scene while attending college there. Currently, Neighbz now resides in downtown Indianapolis, IN. He started making appearances in 2010 at local events such as Keepin’ it Deep, Juxtapose, and Indymojo/G9Collective parties playing a mixture of Deep House, Soulful House, and Lounge. No matter what the venue Neighbz smooth mixing & sexy beats always brings that underground House Music vibe! NO COVER 21+ The Mousetrap Drink Specials: $2 Domestic Pints As always, Hoopers, Poi spinners, and other Flow Ninjas are welcome! ** Please help us spread the word by sharing with your friends ** Come early or SWING THROUGH AFTER THE BOOMBOX SHOW!!! |

|
Indymojo.com & G-9 Collective are proud to present….
Altered Thurzdaze: Kamikaze Memorial Edition We’ll be celebrating the memory of Brad Pike aka Kamikaze, friend to many in the Indianapolis Electronic Music Scene, with lots of breaks, lots of bass, and lots of drinks. Feel free to share your memories of Brad below, be it with pictures, messages, and/or thoughts. ♥ w/Special Guests…. * LADY BANDIT Beth aka Lady Bandit always loved to dance and frequent the local clubs in Dayton, Ohio but knew there was something missing. Top 40 just wasn’t cuttin it anymore. She starting attending a club night in 1998 and fell in love with the underground music scene. This was the beginning of a wonderful relationship. She was hooked on the pounding sounds of house music. .. It wasn’t until later on, 2002, that she discovered the passion that she is pursuing today. Taking turntables as a debt, she fell upon this opportunity, so she took it! Now 8 years later she couldn’t be happier. Beth said the only way she would ever stop djing would be if she stopped having fun or stopped progressing. You could describe her style as sexy and soulful. Beth always tried to maintain that feeling. “It’s feel good music! Music that makes you feel sexy and just…feel good!” She spends most of her time playing breakbeats but house is her first love. She has been known to play Nu Skool, whether it be dirty, funky, tech-funk or progressive breaks. It really doesn’t matter. Just as long as the basslines are deep yet dirty, while the beats are funky. She also plays electro, progressive, and tribal house. “House just makes ya dance!” She has had the opportunity to share the stage with such artists as Paul Oakenfold, Bad Boy Bill, Darude, DJ Swamp, Frankie Bones, Dirty Vegas, Computer Club, John Debo, Green Velvet, Icey, DJ Craze, Baby Anne, Dieselboy, Keith Mackenzie, Terry Mullan, Misstress Barbara, Christopher Lawrence, AC Slater, Micro, DJ Funk, John B, Adam X, Wolfgang Gartner, DJ Swamp, Dirty Vegas, Computer Club, John Debo, Icey, Baby Anne, Dieselboy, Terry Mullan, Misstress Barbara, Micro, DJ Funk, John B, Adam X, Hardware, Josh the Funky 1, AC Slater, Atomic Babies, Paul Johnson, Venom, D:Fuse, Bryan Zentz, Reid Speed, Danny the Wildchild, Claude Von Stroke, Irene, Paul Birken, Woody McBride, Dara, Paul Anthony Dan EFEX and Frankie Vega.
