Cincinnati, OH

“So call them Jamtronica. Call them Live Trance. Call them ElectrorockternativeimprovworldjazzIDM, if you want. Like the music itself, there really are no words. But if you enjoy the way modern artists continue to tinker with the perceived limitations of Electronic music, you might just end up calling Skeetones your new favorite band.”

-Mike Breen, Cincinnati City Beat

Skeetones bring a new generation of music to the Midwest’s electronic landscape. While programmed tracks lay the foundation for songwriting, the music comes to life during the band’s energetic performances. From chopping acapella samples to wobbling bass lines, Skeetones create on-the-fly remixes of their own songs without using a single loop or backing track. They continue to emphasize their live take on sounds such as acid house, hip hop, downtempo, and dubstep, all while keeping sight of their multi-instrumentalist and improvisational foundation. They have shared stages throughout the Midwest with bands such as Pnuma Trio, Umphrey’s McGee, Flying Lotus, The Macpodz, Big Gigantic, and Papadosio. This cultivated ensemble continues to accomplish the seemingly impossible task of entertaining the thinking mind and the dancing feet alike, leaving listeners reformulating their conception of live electronic music.

* LADY BANDIT
Next Era Entertainment – Dayton, OH

Beth aka Lady Bandit always loved to dance and frequent the local clubs in Dayton, Ohio but knew there was something missing. Top 40 just wasn’t cuttin it anymore. She starting attending a club night in 1998 and fell in love with the underground music scene. This was the beginning of a wonderful relationship. She was hooked on the pounding sounds of house music. .. It wasn’t until later on, 2002, that she discovered the passion that she is pursuing today. Taking turntables as a debt, she fell upon this opportunity, so she took it! Now 8 years later she couldn’t be happier. Beth said the only way she would ever stop djing would be if she stopped having fun or stopped progressing. You could describe her style as sexy and soulful. Beth always tried to maintain that feeling. “It’s feel good music! Music that makes you feel sexy and just…feel good!” She spends most of her time playing breakbeats but house is her first love. She has been known to play Nu Skool, whether it be dirty, funky, tech-funk or progressive breaks. It really doesn’t matter. Just as long as the basslines are deep yet dirty, while the beats are funky. She also plays electro, progressive, and tribal house. “House just makes ya dance!” She has had the opportunity to share the stage with such artists as Paul Oakenfold, Bad Boy Bill, Darude, DJ Swamp, Frankie Bones, Dirty Vegas, Computer Club, John Debo, Green Velvet, Icey, DJ Craze, Baby Anne, Dieselboy, Keith Mackenzie, Terry Mullan, Misstress Barbara, Christopher Lawrence, AC Slater, Micro, DJ Funk, John B, Adam X, Wolfgang Gartner, DJ Swamp, Dirty Vegas, Computer Club, John Debo, Icey, Baby Anne, Dieselboy, Terry Mullan, Misstress Barbara, Micro, DJ Funk, John B, Adam X, Hardware, Josh the Funky 1, AC Slater, Atomic Babies, Paul Johnson, Venom, D:Fuse, Bryan Zentz, Reid Speed, Danny the Wildchild, Claude Von Stroke, Irene, Paul Birken, Woody McBride, Dara, Paul Anthony Dan EFEX and Frankie Vega. Bandit has also played an after party for FUSE-in’s Detroit Electronic Music Festival @ The One Fifty Lounge in 2007. Be sure to check out this up and coming dj to a city near you!

Just announced … THE COOP w/ Psynapse, Thursday 12/23/10!

Facebook Event

The Coop

Hailing from Chicago, IL – a modern hub for both live and electronic music – The Coop is a four piece project that combines traditional instrumentation with on-stage production to create a true fusion of electronic sensibilities and organic live music. Taking cues from accomplished artists such as Frank Zappa, STS9, Weather Report and Thievery Corporation, The Coop constructs original works by focusing on the balance of both improvisation and composition. Combining elements of today’s electronic music styles with classic sounds of rock, jazz, dub, funk, and reggae keeps the group’s sound in a state of constant change. “We really try not to let pre-conceived genres limit the music we create. Each member of the band has their own influences, and these differences are what make things really interesting for all of us,” explains drummer Jake Barinholtz. With such a diverse, developed sound, one thing is certain; this young quartet has quickly evolved from their first practices in the old shack that spawned their name into a driving musical force in Chicago and the Midwest.
