About

Short & Company

Jackson, Kentucky original recipe singer-songwriter and genre-bending guitar blazer, Jeremy Short, has quickly risen to the top shelf of must-hear players on the scene.

First given a Gibson SG by his grandfather – a well known Methodist preacher, Short recalls with a laugh, “he handed it to me and said – let’s not make this a full time thing”.

Short first made a name for himself as the solo-ripping sideman of the red-hot Americana act, “Sasha Colette & The Magnolias”, and the front man and lead guitarist of the horn-fueled R&B band “Downtown King”. Now he’s found his home and what he calls “his own thing” in Short & Company.

Leaving his soul on the floor, and yours in shreds, “Ain’t That Workin”, “Bartender” and “Set in Her Ways” show why Short is a 2 Time Semi-finalist, and 2019 competitor at the International Blues Challenge, a competition featuring the best blues acts from around the globe.

But blues aren’t his only groove.

One spin of Lost in A Spin, released March 2018, and Short will have you eating from the palm of his hand.

With dance club ready R&B hits like “Shake It Off”, “You & Me”, and lead single “If The Spirit Moves You”, Short encourages you to forget the stresses of the 9-5 chaos, and get lost in his music. “Sometimes, you just gotta dance to get it out. So if you feel like dancing, dance. If you feel like singing along, do it. Do what feels right.”

Gearing down and getting candid about life in coal country with “This Mountain”(written with former Sasha & The Mags members, Sasha Colette and Steve Barker), the story of “Fast Eddie”, a good guy who can’t kick his habit and get his life together, a ballad about a “heart of gold that loves to sin” in “Barefoot Beauty”, and the closer and only acoustic track, “Mountains of the Like”, Short manages to deliver an entire album of raw, untailored glimpses into life in small town Appalachia.

Touching on the throes of addiction, his shameless love of a strong willed woman, and his need to escape and hit the road, Short’s unafraid to share both where he’s coming from and what it is he is hoping to accomplish.

Having already notched his belt with festivals like Bonnaroo, Mountain Music Festival, FestivALL, Kickin It On The Creek, & Whispering Beard, as well as direct support for the likes of Taj Mahal, Marcus King Band, & Rev Peyton & The Big Damn Band, the future is looking bright for both Short — and his Company.

About

Saxappeal

Saxappeal’s mission is to rekindle the flame between people and music; which is, unfortunately, flickering dim. His hopes are to touch people through his music, in ways they’ve yet to be touched. With focus, determination, positive energy, love, and a passion deeper than anything he can explain, he uses his horn to tell stories, state his opinions, and celebrate the gift of music through love.

Saxappeal: The name itself brings a new image to the music arena. The young saxophonist, born and raised in Detroit, has been playing since the age of 7. In fact, this young bird, barely able to stand on his own two feet, let alone fly solo, was pushed out of the nest (musically speaking), after a mere 6 months of playing his horn. Now, the extraordinary 36-year-old musician brings anxiety, joy, love, pain, passion, and so many more sensations to the stage while performing. Comfortably known as ‘Sax’, he has scoped out his flying territory and has set his sights high.

Saxappeal recently released his 3rd solo project, entitled “Black Gold”, which peaked at #4 on the iTunes Top 100 Jazz Charts, and has surpassed 100,000 streams on Spotify in it’s first 7 weeks of being released.

Saxophonist/educator/producer/multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Saxappeal continues to build his brand, as well as his style of music. As a co-founder of Jazz/Soul/R&B group Collective Peace, Saxappeal created compositions and arrangements of a high-energy live performance, as well as a critically acclaimed project entitled, “Introducing Collective Peace.” The album received the following accolades:

•”Introducing Collective Peace” peaked at #13 on the iTunes top 100 Jazz Chart with our first single, “Let The Music Play.”
•album (“Introducing Collective Peace”) peaked to #6 on iTunes Jazz Top Albums.
•album (“Introducing Collective Peace”) became the #1 Jazz album on Google Play for two consecutive weeks.
•received many top ratings from music sites and taste-makers, including Soul Train, Soul Bounce, BBC, Dusty Grooves, WDET’s Chris Campbell, and many many more.
•album received tons of spins overseas, in London, Amsterdam, Japan, Taiwan, New Zealand, and more.
•signed digital distribution deals with Bling Univercity, Evry Music, Sweet Soul Records, Urban Union, Expansion Records, Tower Records, Sound Signature, and more.

The group has disbanded as of late 2017.

Now a Grammy nominated recording artist, the 2020 Vote For The Best; Jazz/Blues Award recipient, a 2014 Detroit Music Award nominee for entertainer of the year, and a 2013 Crain’s Detroit Business “20 in their 20’s” Award recipient, Michigan Chronicle’s “40 under 40” Award recipient, and a “Who’s Who in Black Detroit” Award recipient, this ambitious young artist has traveled from coast to coast, performing from intimate venues in Detroit, to sold out arenas in Chicago, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Aruba, Dallas, Minnesota, Atlanta, New York, and Europe, just to name a few.

His first trip to New
York was to perform at the legendary Carnegie Hall at the age of 17.
Saxappeal has also been performing with Granny Award winning
artist, Dwele (also a Detroit native musician/singer/songwriter) since 2005. Saxappeal has also toured with R&B vocalist, K’Jon, France born duo Les Nubians, R&B legend Leon Ware, London’s own powerhouse duo Floetry, Grammy nominated Indie-Soul artist, Eric Roberson, currently touring with keyboardist/producer Zo!, and Carmen Rodgers (of The Foreign Exchange), and is also currently touring with Charlie Wilson (11 time Grammy nominated vocalist, and former lead singer of The GAP Band), who’s opening for Bruno Mars’ XXIVk (24 karat) Magic Tour.

Saxappeal is also endorsed by PJLA Music’s saxophone company, Sax Dakota (www.SaxDakota.com), Danté Neck Straps (www.dantestraps.com), Be Wooden Bow Ties (www.BeWooden.com), Harry Hartmann’s Fiberreeds
(www.Fiberreeds.com) Drake Mouthpieces. (www.drakemouthpieces.com), Applied Music Technology Microphones (http://www.appliedmicrophone.com) Gard Bags (www.gardbags.com), Silverstein Ligatures (http://www.silversteinworks.com), and Ultimate Ears (www.ultimateears.com). In efforts to form his own style,
which he calls ‘SaxSoul’, Saxappeal’s music is diverse with a blend of
jazz, hip-hop, soul, and R & B. This young artist has truly been
humbled by his opportunities and eagerly awaits more.

About

Bobby Donnelly

Bobby Donnelly is a singer/songwriter and guitarist currently based out of Indianapolis, Indiana. Originally a classically trained violinist, Bobby began his journey into songwriting and teaching himself the guitar at age twelve, and today finds himself a prominent up-and-coming figure in the Indianapolis music community. Bobby’s music is first and foremost driven by his guitar playing; a combination of blues-forward solos, classic-rock-style choruses, and a subtle taste for both funk and soul.

The electric guitar finds itself equally as important, however, as Bobby’s ability to craft beautiful acoustic melodies that allow for his soulful, gritty voice and impactful lyrics to shine. Bobby released his eponymously titled debut album in August of 2018, with plans for a follow-up album to be expected by late 2020.

“Influenced primarily by the great Stevie Ray Vaughan, and obviously, his most noteworthy, modern-day predecessor, John Mayer, Bobby Donnelly blends blues, soul, rock, and an Eagles-style brand of Americana into a modern soundscape all his own that is sure to have fans moving to the music wherever he goes.”
